Our History

The New Jersey Driving School Council began as a grassroots effort among driving school owners who shared a common concern: protecting the integrity of the driver education industry and addressing the growing problem of unlicensed driving school activity throughout New Jersey.

1. 2023The Movement Begins

   In 2023, Alissia of Ideal Driving School began bringing driving school owners together to raise awareness about unlicensed operators and the challenges they created for licensed schools, students, and the driver education industry as a whole.

   Jhon of Enterprise Driving School quickly joined the effort, helping strengthen the growing movement.

   Soon after, David of Global Driving School became involved, spreading the word to other school owners and helping expand participation throughout the driving school community.

   As the group continued to grow, Robert of New Jersey Driving School became a consistent presence and an important voice for the concerns of participating school owners.

   What began as conversations between a small group of concerned business owners gradually developed into a larger effort to advocate for licensed driving schools across New Jersey.

2. 2024Becoming a Formal Council

   By December 2024, the movement had gained significant momentum.

   Gary of Bergen Driving School joined the effort and helped organize the group into a more formal council. This marked an important transition from an informal network of school owners into an organized group with a shared mission, structure, and long-term vision.

   The goal expanded beyond addressing unlicensed operators. The Council began focusing more broadly on industry advocacy, communication with government agencies, professional standards, legislation, and cooperation among New Jersey driving schools.

3. 2025Building the Organization

   In 2025, the Council continued to develop its organizational foundation.

   Marian of Marian Driving School played a major role in establishing the Council as a 501(c) nonprofit organization, helping create the structure necessary for the Council to operate as a formal organization.

   Yosef of Advanced Driving School took responsibility for overseeing the Council's finances and helping establish financial accountability as the organization continued to grow.

   These milestones transformed what began as a small grassroots movement into the New Jersey Driving School Council — an organization created by driving school owners, for driving school owners.
